چکیده

A 57 year old man required emergency coronary artery bypass surgery after dissection of the left main coronary artery during percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty. His symptoms recurred when the vein grafts became occluded. A dilatation device with the lowest profile was used to reduce the need for firm support from the guiding catheter during repeat percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty. The repeat procedure was successful in opening up the left circumflex coronary artery.

A rare case of aortocoronary dissection following percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty: successful treatment using off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting.

Retrograde dissection of the aorta is a rare but potentially life threatening complication of percutaneous coronary intervention. We describe a case of retrograde aortic dissection, which occurred during attempted percutaneous transluminal coroanary angioplasty (PTCA) of chronically occluded left anterior descending artery (LAD). Emergency coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) was performed to...

Operative treatment after iatrogenic left main dissection.

Coronary dissection has a significant morbidity and mortality. The ideal management of acute coronary occlusion is the prompt restoration of the vessel patency to limit the extent and duration of ischemia. In the setting of dissection during percutaneous procedure, the usual approach has been emergency aortocoronary bypass surgery. The authors present a case of a patient with left main dissecti...

Percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty for the treatment of variant angina.

Among 268 patients undergoing percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty between February 1980 and January 1983, a total of 21 patients had variant angina, documented before angioplasty in 14 and after angioplasty in 7. Before angioplasty, all 21 patients had rest angina and 17 also had effort angina; single vessel coronary artery disease with 60 to 95% stenosis was present in all patients ...

Double-barrel coronary artery dissection.

Coronary artery dissection is a common occurrence after percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA). However, we report herein a rare case of double-barrel coronary artery dissection occurring 1 year after PTCA for stenosis in the left circumflex coronary artery. The case history and angiographic findings are reported, and relevant literature is reviewed.

A surgical case report of off-pump onlay patch grafting for pseudoaneurysm with diffusely calcified coronary artery.

Coronary pseudoaneurysm usually occurs after catheter-based intervention as a result of traumatic dissection or perforation of a coronary artery in 4%-5% of cases. Here, we report the successful case of pseudoaneurysm occurring after percutaneous coronary angioplasty (PTCA) against the severely calcified coronary artery treated with off-pump long onlay patch bypass technique using internal thor...
